About Me

Hi! I’m Alex

I’m a Geneticist by training and I’ve been passionate about gene editing and therapies since high school, when my AP Biology teacher went on a random tangent about something called CRISPR. I soon realized the possibilities of genetics/genomics, and Sci-Fi-ness had me instantly hooked. I’ve been riding that curiosity-driven rush ever since.

I currently work on longevity at a startup in Silicon Valley, developing gene therapies (AAV) for complex, polygenic, age-related diseases like HFpEF, Osteoarthritis, NASH & Pulmonary Fibrosis. My technical background is mostly in gene therapy/editing 🧬, in vivo models 🐭, sequencing and single cell biology.

I’m passionate about solving nuanced and difficult problems, and love thinking about science (of course), sci-comm, health, people, community, and a whole lot more.
